What does the F45 sign mean?
The F45 sign marks a dead end. For works that close a street halfway, put it at the start of the street, so drivers do not drive up to the site only to have to turn around.
Information signs: what you need to know
Information signs are rectangular and give information: a diversion, a dead end, the end of roadworks. At roadworks they point out the detour and close off the works zone.
Do you need a permit?
Anyone who puts up a traffic sign on the public road for works needs the consent of the road authority: through the occupation permit or through a signage permit with a signage plan. Without that consent you may not put up the sign.
