What does the D10 sign mean?
The D10 sign marks a part of the road reserved for pedestrians and cyclists together. At roadworks it lets pedestrians and cyclists share one temporary passage when there is no room for two separate lanes.
Mandatory signs: what you need to know
Mandatory signs are round and blue. They impose an obligation: follow a direction, use a cycle path or a footpath. On a worksite they guide traffic around an obstacle or towards a temporary passage.
Do you need a permit?
Anyone who puts up a traffic sign on the public road for works needs the consent of the road authority: through the occupation permit or through a signage permit with a signage plan. Without that consent you may not put up the sign.
