No overtaking on the left of a vehicle with more than two wheels, up to and including the next junction

What does the C35 sign mean?

The C35 sign forbids overtaking a vehicle with more than two wheels on the left, from the sign up to and including the next junction. At roadworks it goes with the A31 sign, so nobody overtakes alongside the works zone.

Prohibitory signs: what you need to know

Prohibitory signs are round with a red border. They forbid something: a direction, access, overtaking, driving faster than a set speed. At roadworks they close a street or a footpath, or limit the speed along the site.

Do you need a permit?

Anyone who puts up a traffic sign on the public road for works needs the consent of the road authority: through the occupation permit or through a signage permit with a signage plan. Without that consent you may not put up the sign.
