Narrow passage. Give way to oncoming traffic

What does the B19 sign mean?

The B19 sign stands before a narrow passage and means: let oncoming traffic through first. For a worksite that reduces the road to one lane, it stands on the side of the works. The B21 sign stands on the other side.

Priority signs: what you need to know

Priority signs decide who goes first. At roadworks they mostly appear where the carriageway is reduced to a single lane: B19 on one side, B21 on the other, so both directions know who has right of way.

Do you need a permit?

Anyone who puts up a traffic sign on the public road for works needs the consent of the road authority: through the occupation permit or through a signage permit with a signage plan. Without that consent you may not put up the sign.
