Traffic sign A25: Cyclists and moped riders crossing

The A25 sign warns that cyclists and moped riders cross or come onto the carriageway from a cycle path. On a worksite it marks the point where a closed cycle path ends and cyclists have to join the road.

Warning signs are triangular with a red border. They warn of a hazard ahead and are normally placed about 150 metres before it (Highway Code, art. 66.2). On a worksite they announce what the driver is about to meet: roadworks, a narrowing, an uneven surface.

Anyone who puts up a traffic sign on the public road for works needs the consent of the road authority: through the occupation permit or through a signage permit with a signage plan. Without that consent you may not put up the sign.
